CDC Can't Be Trusted About Fluoridation

Casey Hannan, former Director of the CDC’s Oral Health Division testified, while under oath in a federal fluoride lawsuit against the EPA, that the CDC is unable to cite studies showing fluoride is effective when swallowed. See video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPDWbOD4qGM&t=45s

In this second video, Director Hannan admits that the CDC is not aware of any evidence of fluoride’s benefit to infants.  See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOYiLM1Zx3U

The above video is important because ten studies funded or endorsed by the National Institutes of Health found fluoride harms the developing brain

It’s hard to feel sorry for CDC employees when, in 2005, the CDC’s oral health division cherry picked statistics to show tooth decay rates declined when its own data showed a different story https://fluoridedangers.blogspot.com/2005/11/govt-lies-about-tooth-loss-and.html

And, from a freedom of information request, we learned that CDC representatives also were misleading about fluoride’s kidney effects https://fluoridedangers.blogspot.com/2014/11/cdc-misleads-legislators-about.html

And in 2008, A CDC fluoridation spokesperson told the Fairbanks, Alaska, City Council  that the CDC doesn't do original fluoride/fluoridation safety research. Instead the CDC relies on many reviews and reports from the US and other countries. Some of the studies cited actually do not support fluoridation's safety and/or efficacy as he professed (explained in the following link) https://fluoridedangers.blogspot.com/2014/11/cdc-official-lied-about-fluoridation.html

CDC strategizes with lobbyists from a union that protects the best interests of dentists. The American Dental Association is behind virtually every fluoridation initiative in the US.  Fluoridation is tied to its political viability. It seems the ADA is running the CDC oral health division when it comes to fluoride and fluoridation, according to FOIA-obtained documents

The documents also reveal the disdain and lack of respect for people (me) who ask valid questions concerning fluoridation. https://fluoridedangers.blogspot.com/2014/09/govt-strategizes-with-private-groups-to.html

CDC claims fluoridation is one of "10 great public health achievements" but silently buried the truth in CDC's 2001 MMWR report which says the following: "The prevalence of dental caries in a population is not inversely related to the concentration of fluoride in enamel, and              higher concentration of enamel fluoride is not necessarily more
efficacious in preventing dental caries"

                                              and

"In the earliest days of fluoride research, investigators hypothesized that fluoride affects enamel and inhibits dental caries only when incorporated into developing dental enamel [when swallowed]...[but] Fluoride works primarily  after teeth have erupted,...Saliva is a major carrier of topical fluoride. [But], the concentration of fluoride in ductal saliva, as it is secreted from salivary glands, is low --- approximately 0.016 parts per million (ppm) in areas where drinking water is fluoridated and 0.006 ppm in nonfluoridated areas. This concentration of fluoride is not likely to affect cariogenic activity.”

CDC stands by water fluoridation even after a US government agency (the National Toxicology Program) reported that fluoride exposure is linked to neurotoxic effects in children.  Public health officials tried for years to block its publication and water down its conclusions.

"the CDC does receive millions of dollars in industry gifts and funding, both directly and indirectly, and several recent CDC actions and recommendations have raised questions about the science it cites, the clinical guidelines it promotes, and the money it is taking."

"Marcia Angell, former editor in chief of the New England Journal of Medicine, told The British Medical Journal, 'The CDC has enormous credibility among physicians, in no small part because the agency is generally thought to be free of industry bias. Financial dealings with biopharmaceutical companies threaten that reputation.'"

"In February 2019, two Democrat Congresswomen provided the evidence to request a formal investigation of CDC’s interactions with Coca-Cola and its broader corruption. Unfortunately, due to the politicization surrounding COVID, all of this was swept under the rug and forgotten," according to Conservative Angle
